How can you learn about Jesus and Grow in His Grace?

Sunday School - Our Sunday School meets between Labor Day and Memorial Day from 9:15-10:20 and is open to any children from age 4 through Grade 8. Our goal is to help parents teach their children about Jesus and what he has done for us through stories and application to our lives. On Christmas Eve, the children present a Christmas service proclaiming the birth of the Savior through word and song. Also at various times throughout the year, the children sing songs of praise in worship.

Catechism Class - Pastor leads these classes on Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm-7:30pm. 5th and 6th grade spends two years studying vast amounts of Bible history. 7th and 8th grade spends two years taking a more indepth look at the doctrines (teachings) found in Holy Scripture and explained in Luther's Catechism. The goal is for all students to learn the basic truths of God's Word in preparation for Confirmation - the day they publicly confess their faith and are able to begin partaking in the Lord's Supper. Subjects studied include the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

Sunday Morning Bible Study - This study meets from about 9:20am-10:20am starting the Sunday after Labor Day and going through mid-May. It focuses on studying and discussing various subjects throughout the year from books of the Bible to topical studies. This a wonderful opportunity for anyone 9th grade and older to grow in faith and build on the foundation of Sunday School and Confirmation Class.

Coffee and Bible: Every Thursday at 9am, we meet at Familiar Grounds Coffee Shop in New London for a Bible study that lasts about an hour. Join us for a refreshing cup of coffee (or another beverage of your choice!) for this midweek Bible study opportunity. Currently, our study is called "Week in the Word" and we take a closer look at where we are in the Church Year and what the three Scripture readings will be for the upcoming Sunday.

Bible Information Class - If you desire to study and learn the basic truths of God's Word and if you are interested in becoming a member of Grace Lutheran Church, this is the opportunity for you. This class is held upon request. If you are interested in learning more about God's Word and becoming a member of Grace, please contact the pastor.

Vacation Bible School - For one week in the summer time, Vacation Bible School will be held for all children ages 3 through Grade 6 each year with a new theme. We will learn about Jesus, play games, do craft projects, and enjoy the time that we have together. For more information on this, please check out our Science Camp part of the website.

How can you serve Jesus?

Greeters and Ushers - These are opportunities to help and serve on Sunday mornings. We are always looking for more people to be greeters welcoming those who come to worship with us and handing out bulletins. Ushers light the candles, rings the bells, collect the offering, and assist in other various ways as needed.

Choir - Anyone 9th grade and older is invited to join us in singing praise to God throughout the year. We are always looking for more voices to join us in beautifying and enhancing our worship.

Ladies of Grace - The women of Grace gather together once a month (check the monthly church calendar to see what day). We open with Bible study and discuss the ways that we can serve our Lord in the coming weeks. The Ladies of Grace women serve in various ways such as serving potluck dinners, visiting the homebound, and providing flowers for the altar. All women are invited to join us as we seek to serve our Lord in all that we do.

K.E.P.T. Youth Group (Grades 7 through 12) - This group is young people from WELS and ELS congregations in Sugar Bush, Clintonville, Shawano, and the surrounding rural areas. The purpose of our youth group is to gather together as fellow Christians. We try to do something as a group every other months or so. This also allows time for individual congregations to have their own youth events. We have done anything from bowling to lock-ins to bonfires. We also look for opportunites to serve our Lord in the church and in our communities as we are able. All young people are invited to join us.
